Lawacherra Rain Forest
Lawacherra Rain Forest is sited under Kamalganj upazila of Moulavibazar district which is the most beautiful tropical forest in Bangladesh. In 1997, Bangladesh government declared it a National Park. Now it is a highly reserved forest. Local elder told us Hillock Gibbons, wild Chicken, Deer, Squirrel, Pig-tailed Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Assamese Macaque, Jackal, Wild Dog, Bear, Tiger, Fishing Cat, Leopard Cat, Wild Boar and Python, even King Cobra settle their presence in this jungle though few animals have been extinct already. In our visit we saw gibbons were swimming through the trees and different species of birds but if you are lucky might see those animals nevertheless you should be conscious and should not room alone deep inside jungle. This forest is standing like a hallowed place which is inviting people to swallow its peaceful splendor without harming it.
